⑴ Public power supply system
Arc welding equipment should be connected to the public power supply system in the manner recommended by the manufacturer. If interference occurs, additional preventive measures should be taken, such as installing filters in the public power supply system. For fixed installation arc welding equipment, the shielding problem of its power supply cable should be considered, and metal pipes or other equivalent methods can be used for shielding. Shielding should maintain electrical continuity. The shielding layer should also be connected to the welding power supply casing to ensure good electrical contact between the two.
⑵ Maintenance of arc welding equipment
Arc welding equipment should be regularly maintained according to the manufacturer's recommended methods. When the welding equipment is in operation, all entrances, auxiliary doors, and covers on the equipment should be closed and properly tightened. Arc welding equipment should not be modified in any form, unless corresponding changes and adjustments are allowed in the manual. It is particularly important to adjust and maintain the spark gap of the ignition and stabilization devices according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
⑶ Welding cables
Welding cables should be as short as possible and close to each other, running close to or close to the ground.
4. Equipotential overlap
Be sure to pay attention to the overlap of all metal objects in the surrounding environment. The overlapping of metal objects and workpieces can increase the risk of work, and operators may be electrocuted when they come into contact with these metal objects and electrodes simultaneously. Operators should maintain insulation from all these metal objects.
Grounding of workpieces
Due to electrical safety or the location and size of workpieces, workpieces may not be grounded, such as ship hulls or building steel frames. The connection between the workpiece and the ground sometimes reduces emission, but this is not always the case. So it is necessary to prevent the increased risk of electric shock to users or damage to other electrical equipment caused by workpiece grounding. When necessary, the workpiece should be directly connected to the ground, but in some countries, direct grounding is not allowed and appropriate capacitors can only be selected according to the regulations of the host country.
